TRES EN RAYA

Nos presentamos a la 20° edición del concurso internacional de diseño industrial del mueble – CETEM con esta estantería modular y aunque no conseguimos llevarnos el premio (quedamos entre los cinco finalistas de setenta) estamos muy satisfechas con el resultado. Fue una experiencia de la que nos llevamos muchas cosas positivas, nos ha hecho crecer profesionalmente y aprender cómo funciona este “mundillo”, y lo más importante la satisfacción de ver realizado este precioso mueble gracias a KAURI. ¡Esperamos que os guste!

We participated in the 20th edition of the international competition of industrial design furniture - CETEM with this modular shelving. Although we did not win (but we were finalists from seventy contestants) we were very proud with the result. It was an experience where we got a lot of positive things, we grow professionally and learn how does it work, and the most important thing is to see and touch this beautiful piece of furniture with our  own hands thanks to KAURI. We hope you enjoy it!

La idea surgió al observar los nuevos estilos de vida que llevamos hoy en día. Cambiar de casa, empezar un nuevo proyecto, ampliar la familia o simplemente nuestro estado de ánimo afectan a los espacios que nos rodean. Por ello quisimos diseñar un mueble que se adaptase a estos acontecimientos. 

Moving houses, starting a new project, extending the family, all these events affect the spaces around us.

Tres en Raya es un modo original de organizar los objetos. Las piezas encajan entre sí como si de un puzle se tratase. Puedes utilizar tantos paneles y piezas como quieras y cambiar la disposición o añadir más paneles a lo largo del tiempo para crear las composiciones que mejor se adapten al momento que estés viviendo.

Tres en Raya is an original way of organizing objects. Pieces fit together like a puzzle. You can use as many panels and pieces as you want creating compositions that best suits the environment and modify it anytime. It fits your space and lifestyle.

Para mover las piezas solo hay que deslizarlas por los carriles. Y lo mejor de todo es que puedes jugar con él ¡Como si fuera un tres en raya gigante!

To move pieces you just have to slide them along the rails. And the best part is that you can play with it like a giant Tic Tac Toe!

Por mucho que nos cueste admitirlo, ¡el verano se ha acabado! :(:(:( A Pistacho no le ha sentado nada bien la noticia, por eso ya ha comenzado a preparar su disfraz para Halloween. ¿Sabíais que Halloween tiene su origen en una festividad céltica conocida como Samhain, que deriva del irlandés antiguo y significa fin del verano?

We don’t want to accept it but summer is over! Pistachio did not like the fact at all and he already started preparing his costume for Halloween. Did you know that Halloween has its origins in a Celtic festival known as Samhain, which derives from Old Irish and means end of summer?

DIY: New seat new life

Nos encontramos esta silla por casualidad justo antes de que pasara a mejor vida. Aunque le faltaba el asiento, se encontraba en buenas condiciones y la madera era de calidad bastante buena. Como no nos gusta tirar nada decidimos llevárnosla para restaurarla. Con este tutorial os mostramos como es posible darle una nueva vida a un mueble antiguo de manera muy sencilla y sin gastar mucho dinero. Estos son los materiales necesarios:

Tela. Nosotras hemos utilizado una tela con estampado años 50, al tratarse de una silla clásica le da un toque más fresco, pero podéis utilizar la tela que mas os guste.

Espuma de poliuretano

Guata de poliéster

Tablero de fibras de madera con la forma del asiento. Podéis cortarlo vosotros o pedir en la tienda que os lo corten.

Tijeras, cúter y grapadora para tapizar

Para realizar el asiento solo tenéis que seguir estos sencillos pasos que os mostramos a continuación. Una vez terminado podéis fijarlo a la silla con unos tornillos.

We found this chair by chance. Apart from the seat, it was in good conditions and the wood was pretty good quality. As we don't like to throw anything away, we decided to restore it. With this tutorial we show you how to give new life to an old piece of furniture without spending much money. These are the required items:

Fabric. We used a mid-century pattern to give it a fresh look, but you can use the fabric you like.
Polyurethane foam
Polyester wadding
Wood fiber board with the shape of the seat. You can cut it yourself or ask in the shop.
Scissors, cutter and stapler to upholster

Follow these simple steps to make the seat. Once you've finished you can attach it to the chair with screws.

La verdad que muchas veces nos deshacemos de cosas que con un poco de ganas e imaginación podríamos recuperar e incluso mejorando su aspecto anterior. ¿Qué os parece el resultado?

Ahora sí, se acabaron las vacaciones y toca volver a la rutina, pero nosotras estamos encantadas porque septiembre se plantea un mes cargadito de cosas interesantes. Ya os iremos contando. ¿Vosotros que planes tenéis para el nuevo curso? Podéis apuntarlo todo en el nuevo calendario de Pistacho.
